Ensure you have access to Direct to Storage as below – if you do not, contact your Project Admin.
Navigate to Workstations > Direct to storage (on left hand side).
Any project user (with permission) can:
- Create a folder,
- Upload one or many files/folders at the top level
- Upload one or many files/folders into any folder
- Move a file/folder to any folder
- Download one or more files individually or using multi select
- Download one or more folders individually or using multi select
- Rename a file
- Rename a folder
Project Admins and Content Managers can also delete any file or folder.
If files/folders are deleted from the associated storage, they will disappear from tanooki as well.
If files/folders are created/renamed on the associated storage they will update in tanooki as well.
If you try to upload a duplicate filename, you will get the following message:
Non-duplicate files in the same upload will still be processed.
If you try to upload to a duplicate folder name, tanooki will upload anything in the uploaded folder to the existing folder. This includes any already existing sub folders.
If a folder is downloaded then the whole folder structure below it will also be downloaded.
If you want to notify project users that content has been uploaded, please check the Project Admin has ensured Notifications are turned on in ‘Edit project‘.
