Uploading your content for review is simple – see below for additional detail on the process and technical specifications.
The process:
Any member of a project team can upload content to the tanooki review . That person becomes the content owner and by default, only the content owner has permission to view that file. You can edit permissions when you upload, or leave it until later, the choice is yours.
-Navigate to the correct project
-Click on the ‘Review’ tab
-Navigate to the folder you wish to upload to in tanooki
-Click the upload button – the file/folder picker opens
-Navigate to the relevant file or folder
-Click ‘Edit permissions’
-Select the individuals or review teams you wish to give access to. By default, only owners, content managers and admins can download the content, but you can use the toggle to change this or later
-Add a description. This is purely so you can keep a track of your upload as it passes through the upload and transcode queue.
– End
Filename: give your work a name that makes it unique when you export
File type – we accept .mov, .mp4 and .mxf (opatom) files.
Codec – we transcode just about any codec into h264 for use on the player.
Timecode – try to include a file that contains timecode embedded in metadata. if your file contains no timecode metadata (often the case with .mp4), don’t worry, we’ll add a 00:00:00:00 time code for you.
Bit rate – tanooki is agnostic regarding what bit rate you upload. We transcode to a medium and high quality to make sure everything looks great in the app and is accessible to the widest audience.
Frame size – we are agnostic.
Frame rate – we support 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97ndf, 29.97, 30, 59.94, 60 fps and just about any integer you can think of.
Audio – we pass your audio through so if you upload 8 mono tracks, your tanooki viewing experience will allow you to select from any of those 8 track.
