The tanooki desktop app simplifies and automates the upload process by allowing you to export files directly into tanooki without using the browser.
It streamlines your workflow and saves time by handling uploads in the background.
Installer files for the desktop app are located via this link – Downloads
Select & download the correct version off the tanooki desktop app for your system. Run the installer and place a shortcut on your desktop.
Use the tanooki app icon on desktop to launch the app and present the login window.
Use your normal tanooki credentials to login.
On the first launch, you will be asked to set your watch folder location. Any watch folders already created back in the tanooki web app will now be created on your local workstation.
The app is now ready to go.
Any content placed in a watch folder—whether by export, copy, or move—will be automatically uploaded to tanooki. If the upload is interrupted (for example, due to a lost internet connection), the desktop app will detect the issue and resume or restart the upload as needed.
Your content will appear in the correct folder within tanooki, with access permissions already applied. Everyone with access to that folder will automatically receive a notification.
Creation of Review Watch folders can also be done via the desktop app. If you create a new Watch folder locally, it will appear in the Tanooki web app, and any files you place inside will upload automatically. Renaming a folder will create that as a new folder, leaving the old one intact. Deleting a folder should be done via the Tanooki web app, and then locally while all instances of the desktop app are closed.
